Wirtz Beverage Announces Leadership Award Winner, New Role

Chicago, IL – Today, Wirtz Beverage Group named John Donohue the winner of its 2014 Arthur M. Wirtz Leadership Award. Given annually to one of the company’s 2,500 employees, the Award recognizes extraordinary leadership and performance achievement. Donohue was recently appointed Senior Vice President of Wirtz Beverage Canada, the company’s exclusive Canadian brokerage business with Diageo slated to launch July 1, 2014.

Wirtz Leadership Award acknowledges individuals who exemplify our company values and deliver performance excellence,” said Danny Wirtz, EVP Wirtz Beverage Group. “It’s an honor to celebrate and reward all the nominees. Ultimately, John was selected as the winner for the same reasons he was promoted. He’s an exemplary leader who drives results.”

Currently, John is Director of Trade Development for Wirtz Beverage Illinois where he successfully leads channel planning, pricing and reporting for the Diageo portfolio statewide. John has additional leadership experience in national marketing and business strategy. In his new role, John will serve as SVP of Wirtz Beverage Canada overseeing the sales execution of its 120+ dedicated sales force.

Other 2014 Arthur M. Wirtz Award nominees include Pat Oney (Wirtz Beverage Minnesota); Mike Shiffer (Wirtz Beverage Illinois); Drew Levinson (Wirtz Beverage Nevada); and Scott Jones (Wirtz Beverage Wisconsin).
