Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing
David Lockie serves as a Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Wirtz Beverage Illinois and Minnesota. He also jointly oversees the company’s interests within JBW Group of Iowa. David is a seasoned leader with nearly 30 years of industry experience.
In his current role, he drives the Wirtz Beverage culture of execution across states through all aspects of sales including planning, implementation, measurement, integration and innovation strategies. His commitment to leadership and vision has successfully contributed to overall company objectives by continually surpassing key revenue and account goals. David also plays a leadership and mentorship role for the company’s sales consultants.
Prior to joining Wirtz Beverage, David served as President of Union Beverage of Illinois where he oversaw the sales of the company’s leading wine divisions. His experience also includes tenures as Vice President of Wine, Sales and Marketing with Glazer’s of Illinois, managing the company’s wine portfolio on a statewide basis as well as Midwest and Mid-Central Division manager of E&J Gallo Winery where he oversaw execution of Gallo’s retail programming and brand standards in each of the respective regions.
Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing Regal Diageo Division
Matt Wind serves as Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Wirtz Beverage Illinois. In total, the long-time industry veteran has more than 20 years of experience.
Matt has been a part of the Wirtz Beverage team for more than ten years. His long history with the company includes experience in various roles including VP Sales & Marketing, Director of Corporate Accounts, Director of On-Premise and Director of Off-Premise General Market supporting Wirtz Beverage Illinois’ Regal Division. Matt excelled in each of these roles providing growth opportunities, achievement and success for the company.
Matt is a seasoned leader. His varied channel capability, together with extremely strong relationships in the marketplace, makes Matt well-suited to help lead Wirtz Beverage Illinois through its next generation of growth.
Vice President, Alliance & Craft Beer Division Sales
In his role as Vice President of the Alliance and Craft Beer Divisions, Jeff Roth leads and manages a group of 140 individuals for Wirtz Beverage Illinois to develop and achieve fiscal-year goals.
Previously, Jeff has experience as Director of Wines at Empire Merchants in New York City; Director of on-premise sales for the Wine Merchants of Connecticut; Field Marketing Manager at E&J Gallo Winery in Connecticut and Rhode Island; Key Account Manager for Reliable Churchill Distributors Baltimore; and Winery Field Marketing Manager Montgomery County Maryland at E&J Gallo Winery. He was also named Director of the year in 2010 for Empire Merchants NYC.
Jeff has a Bachelors degree in History from the College of Charleston and a Masters in Religious Studies from Miami University, Ohio.
Vice President, Spectrum Spirit Division Sales
As a veteran of the beverage alcohol industry for over 20 years, Al Bruni joined Wirtz Beverage Illinois in 2011 as the VP for the Alliance Division. In that role, he was responsible for building and overseeing the division.
In January of 2013, Al transitioned into his current role as VP of Sales and Marketing Spectrum Division: Spirits where he is responsible for over 55 key spirit suppliers. Al also manages the Summit and Horizon sales division, as well as the Illinois shared divisions.
Previously, Al spent 20 years with Bacardi USA where he held in various sales management roles in 11 different states throughout the USA.
Al is a graduate of The University of Miami.
Vice President, Spectrum Wine Division Sales
In his role as Vice President of Sales for the Spectrum Wine Division at Wirtz Beverage Illinois, Steve Lesak is responsible for over 60 suppliers, 3.6 million cases and $220 million dollars in sales annually.
He has over 26 years of experience with both distributors and suppliers such as: Romano Brothers Beverage Company, Johnson Brothers Liquor Company, Glazers Distributing, and The E&J Gallo Winery.
Steve has a Bachelors of Science in Management from Northern Illinois University.
Vice President, Avant & Premier Division
As Vice President of the Avant & Premier Division, Shiffer’s team is responsible for driving sales performance of all Wirtz Beverage IL suppliers in some of the most specialized accounts in the state. He is also tasked with properly aligning with Trade Development and building long-lasting relationships with customers and suppliers.
Prior to this role, he served as Director of the Horizon Division, where he led the team to peak performance year-over-year. The Horizon Division covers Chicagoland, Heartland and encompasses several teams that represent all WBI suppliers.
Prior to his time with Wirtz Beverage, Shiffer spent time with multiple distributors as well as the E&J Gallo Winery, where we worked as Field Marketing Manager, Division Manager and Director of Customer Development.
Shiffer began his career in the alcohol beverage industry immediately after graduating from the University of Iowa.
